|elyssa||02:53 am - Anyone out there still alive?|
It just occurred to me that there might be a community on LJ with other Cardinals fans in it. And there is, albeit a small one :-)
My fiancé and I have season tickets and we were at the game today. Although the offense looked terrible (and wasn't helped by some pretty crappy play calling and calls from the refs), I did think the defense looked good. The touchdown at the end that sealed the game sucked, but two touchdowns in how many stops?
(Seems I need a Cardinals userpic.)

The SportsLife 5 Greatest Super Bowls (And What Makes Them Great)
In the NFL, there’s four types of games for the Super Bowl to be labeled: A blowout, a yawnfest, the Upset, and the Instant Classic. Now the first two are never fun to watch for the average fan, so unless you’re a diehard fan for one team or the other, we can dispense with how a blow out is great (starting the party early), and the yawner (the highlight is normally the commercials). That leaves us with the final two type of Super Bowls we may wind up with this very year: The Upset, and the Instant Classic. READ MORE

NFC Championship Game and no one's posted yet? Well, to break the silence...
As I'd been sick much of the week, I kept expecting a voice over my shoulder to tell me it was time to wake up. Seriously. I can't remember a sweeter sports memory than watching the Cardinals, the team no one gave even a chance of winning this game, absolutely dismantle the Carolina Panthers.
What a game. We've been waiting a long time for something like that. I'm anxious about next week, but I'm also startled that we're even TALKING about next week, on some level.
Now, to find a Cardinals hat here in Oklahoma City. Got to step up the search...

Sorry, but, first play of the game 99-yard TD return ! No way this guy did that for the Cardinals ! At least now we can say we've had a score in the first quarter this year ! Go Cards !

Y'know, being an Oklahoma Sooners fan, this sort of reminds me of the game against the Oregon Ducks, except replace blind officials with inept coaching. The team's got to put it behind them and focus on their next opponent.
One of two things will happen. One, the Cardinals will listen to, and start to believe, the garbage the media is spewing about the team or two(and I see this more likely if the players on the team make a commitment to right the ship), they'll get angry. If it's the later, given what these guys are capable of... I wouldn't wanna be the Raiders.
Oh, and who else thinks that if we do get a new HC, it might not be a bad idea to consider Kurt Warner as the QB coach? Performance this season aside, I don't think it's coincidence he's been on three teams that have well groomed young QBs in the mix. He's talking retirement, and I think he could really contribute in such a role, if he was interested in it.

... I hate Neil Rackers. What a meltdown by the Cards. But Rackers should have made that.
